Terms of Service

Effective October 16, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Schreiner Media LLC, a Nebraska limited liability company ("Visor," "we," "us"). They cover the Visor iPhone app (the "App") and the website tryvisor.app (the "Website"), together the "Service." By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Please read section 14 carefully. It says that most disputes will be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court or in a class action, and it explains how to opt out.

1. Who can use Visor

You must be at least 18, live in the United States, and be able to enter into a binding contract. You may use the Service only for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

2. What Visor is, and what it isn't

Visor is an educational planning tool. It organizes information you enter or connect and shows how your finances could change under the assumptions shown in the App. Those assumptions include expected investment returns, inflation, interest rates, and the details of the decisions you test.

Visor does not give financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, or credit advice, and it doesn't recommend specific securities or products. We are not a bank, lender, broker-dealer, investment adviser, financial planner, or fiduciary, and no such relationship is created by your use of the Service. Projections, scores, verdicts such as "Works, with tradeoffs," suggestions, goal dates, insights, and notifications are general illustrations based on your inputs and assumptions. They are estimates, not predictions or guarantees, and your actual results will be different. Visor doesn't move money or make decisions for you. You alone decide what to do with your money. Consider talking to a qualified professional before making important financial decisions.

When you describe a decision in your own words, Visor turns it into the details it tests (such as a price, a loan, or a monthly amount), sometimes with on-device AI. It can misread what you meant, so check the decision Visor shows before relying on the result, and adjust it if anything is wrong.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in method secure. You're responsible for activity under your account, and you agree to keep the information you give us reasonably accurate. Tell us right away at support@tryvisor.app if you think your account has been used without your permission. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.

4. Connecting your accounts (Plaid)

You can choose to connect bank, credit card, loan, and investment accounts. Connections are provided by Plaid Inc.

  • Your authorization. By connecting an account, you authorize Visor and Plaid to access and retrieve information from that institution on your behalf. That includes account details, balances, transactions, liabilities, and investment holdings, used to provide the Service. You confirm that you're allowed to give this authorization for each account you connect.
  • Plaid's terms. You agree that Plaid's handling of your information is governed by the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You enter your bank login into Plaid's screen, not into Visor, and we never receive it.
  • Accuracy. Information from your institutions may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and we don't verify it. Visor isn't responsible for errors that come from your institution or Plaid. Check your institution directly for official balances and records.
  • Turning it off. You can disconnect any account at any time in the App, or at my.plaid.com. You can connect up to 5 institutions at a time.
  • Premium only. Connected accounts require an active Visor Premium subscription. If your subscription ends, your connections are disconnected and the data imported from them is deleted (balances copied into your plan are removed the next time you open the App). You can reconnect them if you subscribe again.

5. Visor Premium subscriptions

Some features need a paid Visor Premium subscription, which you buy through Apple's App Store.

  • Price and plans. Visor Premium is offered as an auto-renewing yearly or monthly plan. The price, length, and any free trial are shown in the App before you buy, in your local currency, and that's what you'll be charged.
  • Free trials. If you're offered a free trial (currently 14 days), it turns into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The App shows when your trial ends and can remind you before you're charged. Free trials are generally available once per eligible Apple Account, as determined by Apple.
  • Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price until you cancel. Apple charges your Apple Account within 24 hours before the current period ends. To stop renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
  • How to cancel. Cancel any time in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or from Settings → Manage subscription in the App. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the App or your Visor account does not cancel your subscription.
  • Price changes. If we change the price, Apple will notify you in advance as its rules require, and the new price applies only from your next renewal after that notice. You can cancel before it takes effect.
  • Refunds. Apple processes all payments and refunds under its own policies. Request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue App Store refunds ourselves.
  • Restoring purchases. If you reinstall or switch iPhones, use "Restore purchases" in the App.

Features available without a subscription may change over time.

6. Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • break the law or use the Service to harm anyone;
  • access or try to access someone else's account or data, or connect accounts you're not authorized to use;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract source code, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
  • interfere with, overload, or try to get around the security or limits of the Service;
  • scrape, copy, or access the Service with bots, or use it or its outputs to build a competing product or to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models;
  • resell, rent, or share access to your account; or
  • send us anything unlawful, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share.

We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.

7. Your content and feedback

You keep ownership of the information you put into Visor. You give us permission to store, process, and display it only to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you send us ideas or feedback, you give us a permanent, free, worldwide right to use them for any purpose, without owing you anything. We won't publish your feedback in a way that identifies you without your permission.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, logos, and the Visor name, belongs to Schreiner Media LLC or its licensors and is protected by law. As long as you follow these Terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple's Usage Rules. Some parts of the App are provided under their own open-source licenses; for example, the Hanken Grotesk typeface is used under the SIL Open Font License.

9. Other companies' services

The Service relies on services from other companies, including Apple, Plaid, your financial institutions, Google, and the providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of their services. We're not responsible for them, for their availability, or for what they do.

10. Disclaimers

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THAT INCLUDES ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT PROJECTIONS, CALCULATIONS, OR DATA FROM THIRD PARTIES WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. Some states don't allow some of these disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW:

  • WE AREN'T LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, or for lost profits, savings, or data. That includes ANY LOSS FROM FINANCIAL DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON THE SERVICE, even if we were told such damages were possible.
  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR VISOR PREMIUM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100.

These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for our gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these Terms or the law, or misused the Service, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows. This doesn't apply to claims caused by our own wrongdoing.

13. Changes, suspension, and ending

We may update the Service and these Terms. If we make a significant change to these Terms, we'll tell you in the App or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new Terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using the Service and delete your account. Changes to section 14 won't apply to disputes that arose, or that either of us had notice of, before the change takes effect. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if we stop offering the Service. If we stop offering Visor Premium, we'll give you advance notice. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 2, 7, 8, and 10–16) continue after these Terms end.

14. Resolving disputes: arbitration and class-action waiver

Talk to us first. Most problems can be solved quickly. Before starting a formal dispute, email support@tryvisor.app with your name, your account email, a description of the problem, and what you'd like us to do. We'll try to resolve it informally within 60 days. Deadlines for bringing claims are paused while this informal process, or a batch wait under "Mass filings," is underway.

Arbitration. If we can't resolve it, you and Visor agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy relating to these Terms or the Service will be settled by binding individual arbitration. The arbitration is administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, which are available at adr.org. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The arbitrator, not a court, decides questions about the scope or enforceability of this agreement to arbitrate, except that a court decides disputes about the class-action waiver, the "Mass filings" paragraph, and whether an opt-out was valid. We'll pay all AAA fees except your share of the filing fee under the AAA Consumer Fee Schedule, and for claims up to $10,000 we'll reimburse that filing fee unless the arbitrator finds the claim frivolous. Arbitration may be held by video or in the county where you live. You and Visor are each giving up the right to a jury trial.

Exceptions. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. Either of us may also ask a court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

No class actions. You and Visor each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party seeking it. If this class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim or type of relief, such as public injunctive relief, that claim or relief must be decided in court after any individual arbitration is complete. The rest of this section still applies.

Mass filings. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed by or with the help of the same law firm or group, they'll be handled in batches under the AAA's mass-arbitration procedures, to keep the process fair and manageable for everyone.

Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days after you first accept these Terms by emailing support@tryvisor.app with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out," your name, and your account email. If you opt out, the class-action waiver also doesn't apply to you. Opting out doesn't affect the rest of these Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs section 14. Any claim that isn't arbitrated will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Lancaster County, Nebraska, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here takes away consumer-protection rights that the law of the state where you live doesn't allow to be waived.

16. Apple App Store terms

These terms apply because you got the App from Apple's App Store:

  • The parties. These Terms are between you and Visor only, not Apple. Visor, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
  • Use of the App. Your license to use the App is limited to using it on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing may also use it as those rules allow.
  • Support. Visor is solely responsible for maintenance and support of the App. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
  • Warranty. If the App fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App, if any. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses from a failure to conform to a warranty are Visor's responsibility, to the extent they aren't disclaimed in these Terms.
  • Product claims. Visor, not Apple, is responsible for any claims you or a third party have relating to the App or your use of it. That includes (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the App fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
  • Intellectual property. If a third party claims the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Visor, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
  • Legal compliance. You confirm that you're not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Third-party terms. You must follow any applicable third-party terms (such as your wireless carrier's) when using the App.
  • Contact. Questions, complaints, or claims about the App go to Visor at support@tryvisor.app.
  • Beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

17. General

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any terms shown to you in the App when you buy something are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You agree that we can send you notices electronically, by email or in the App, and that those notices count as written notice. You can reach us at support@tryvisor.app.
