Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026
This policy explains what information Schreiner Media LLC ("Visor," "we," "us"), a Nebraska limited liability company based in Lincoln, Nebraska, collects through the Visor iPhone app (the "App") and the website tryvisor.app (the "Website"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: support@tryvisor.app.
The short version
- Visor helps you see where your money is headed. To do that, it uses the financial information you enter or choose to connect.
- We don't sell your information. We don't use your financial information for advertising, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing. We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- If you connect accounts, the connection runs through Plaid. Visor never sees or stores your bank username or password.
- You can disconnect accounts, delete your financial data, or delete your whole account at any time inside the App.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address and how you sign in (Sign in with Apple, Google, or email). If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email," we only receive the relay address Apple gives us. If you sign in with email, you also create a password, which our sign-in provider stores only in scrambled (hashed) form.
- Financial information you enter: for example income, expenses, cash, investments, debts and loans, goals, your age and planned retirement age, the assumptions you choose for projections, and the decisions you test and save.
- Feedback and support messages: what you write when you use "Give feedback" or email us, the topic you pick, whether you're happy for us to reply, and the App version.
Information from accounts you connect (through Plaid)
If you choose to connect a bank, card, loan, or investment account, we receive from your institution, through Plaid: account names, types and the last digits of account numbers; balances; transactions (up to about the last 12 months, then ongoing updates), which we use only to detect recurring income and bills and don't store individually; the recurring payments we detect from them; loan and credit card details such as interest rates, minimum payments and due dates; and investment holdings and their values. We use only what's needed to build your picture inside Visor.
Information collected automatically
- Subscription status: whether you have Visor Premium, your plan, and purchase and renewal history, from Apple through our subscription provider RevenueCat. We never receive your card or payment details; Apple handles payment.
- Usage analytics (you can turn this off): which features are used, such as "a simulation was run," "a goal was created," or "a bank was connected," with simple categories like the type of decision or goal. These events are linked to a random Visor account ID, along with basic device details (such as phone model, iOS version, App version, language, and time zone). They never include your balances, amounts, account or bank names, goal targets, or anything you type. Turn this off any time in Settings → Privacy & security → "Share usage data."
- Crash reports (part of usage analytics, so the same switch turns them off): if the App crashes, a report goes to our analytics provider the next time you open it. It contains the type of crash, where in the App's code it happened, and the same basic device details. It never includes your financial information or anything you type.
- Technical and log data: when the App connects to our servers or providers, they receive your IP address and basic device and App information, and keep records of the request. We use this to run and secure Visor. Our analytics provider may use your IP address to estimate a general location, such as your city or region.
- Paywall information: to show subscription offers, our paywall provider Superwall receives your Visor account ID, basic device and App information, how you interact with the offer screen, and three simple facts: whether you finished setup, how you signed in, and whether you've connected a bank. It never receives your financial information.
- Website: see section 10.
Information that stays on your phone
Some features work entirely on your device, and we don't receive that information:
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show a copy of a few of your numbers that is stored only on your phone.
- Notifications (the weekly check-in, milestones, decision follow-ups, and trial reminder) are created on your phone from your numbers. They aren't sent through our servers.
- Face ID or passcode lock: iPhone checks your face or passcode. Visor only learns whether the check succeeded, never your face data or passcode.
- Reading what you type into the Decision Simulator uses artificial intelligence (AI): Apple's on-device language model, where your iPhone supports it, turns your sentence into a decision Visor can test. This is the only place Visor uses AI. It runs entirely on your phone; we don't send your typed text to any AI service, and AI doesn't decide your results, which come from Visor's own calculations. Only the resulting decision, such as "buy a $40,000 car," and any notes you add, are saved with your account if you choose to save it.
We don't collect your precise location, contacts, photos, health information, or government ID numbers, and we don't ask for your Social Security number.
2. How we use information
- To provide the App: calculating where your finances are headed, running the simulations you ask for, tracking goals, and showing your numbers.
- To keep your data in sync across your devices when you're signed in.
- To run your subscription, including free trials and restoring purchases.
- To keep connected accounts up to date and to disconnect them when you ask or when Premium ends.
- To communicate with you about your account, for example sign-in emails and replies to your messages. If you turn them on, the App also sends notifications on your phone.
- To improve Visor, using the usage analytics described above (if you leave them on) and your feedback.
- To protect Visor and our users, including preventing fraud and abuse, securing systems, and meeting legal obligations.
We use information received from your financial institutions only to provide the features you asked for. We don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't use it to decide whether you're eligible for credit, insurance, a job, or housing.
We may create aggregated or de-identified information from usage analytics and feedback, which no longer identifies you, to understand how Visor is used and to improve it. We don't create it from information we receive from your financial institutions. We won't try to re-identify it, and we won't sell it.
3. How we share information
We share information only in these situations:
Service providers who help us run Visor. They may use the information only to provide their service to us and must protect it:
- Plaid Inc. connects your financial accounts. Plaid's handling of your data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You can also see and manage connections you've made through Plaid at my.plaid.com.
- Supabase provides sign-in and our encrypted cloud database.
- Apple and RevenueCat process subscription purchases and status.
- PostHog processes usage analytics, if you leave them on.
- Superwall shows subscription offers.
- Google processes sign-in, if you choose "Continue with Google."
- Resend sends our emails, such as account confirmations, password resets, and waitlist messages.
- Cloudflare checks for bots on our Website's forms.
- Vercel hosts our Website.
These providers may store and process information in the United States.
When you ask us to. For example, when you connect an account, we and Plaid exchange information with your institution on your behalf.
Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if we believe it's required by law, a court order, or a government request, or if it's needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Visor, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If Visor is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that deal. We'll tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy, and you can delete your account at any time.
We don't share your personal information with other companies for their own marketing, and we don't sell it or share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.
Links to other sites. The App and Website link to other companies, such as Plaid and Apple. Their own privacy policies, not this one, cover what they collect.
4. Your financial privacy notice
Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some, but not all, sharing of their financial information. We collect the categories of information described in section 1. We disclose them only to the service providers in section 3 that perform services for us, to process the things you ask for, to protect against fraud, and otherwise as permitted or required by law. We restrict access to people who need it to run Visor, and we protect it with the safeguards in section 5. These practices also apply if you stop being a Visor user. We do not share it with other companies for their marketing, and we have no affiliates we share it with. Because we don't share in any of the ways federal law lets you limit, there is nothing you need to opt out of. If that ever changes, we'll update this notice and give you a choice first.
5. How we protect information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. These include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls that limit our database so each person can reach only their own records, keeping secret keys only on our servers, rate limits, and restricted access to production systems. Your bank login is entered into Plaid's secure connection screen, never into Visor, and we never receive it. You can also add a Face ID or passcode lock to the App.
No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we'll notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
6. How long we keep information
- While your account is active, we keep your information so the App works.
- Disconnecting an account in the App stops new data from that institution and deletes the data we imported from it.
- If Visor Premium ends, your connected accounts are disconnected automatically and the data we imported from them is deleted. Balances copied into your plan are removed the next time you open the App. Information you entered yourself stays, so you can keep using the free features.
- Deleting all financial data (Settings) removes your financial setup, goals, and saved simulations, then restarts setup.
- Deleting your account (Settings) permanently deletes your account and the data linked to it. That covers your financial information, connected accounts (which we also disconnect at Plaid), and feedback. We also ask RevenueCat and PostHog to delete their records of you; PostHog's deletion of past usage events can take some time to finish. Our own records are deleted right away, except that copies may remain in secure backups and system logs for up to 30 days. Superwall and Plaid keep their own records under their own policies. We may keep limited records where the law requires it.
- Usage analytics are kept for up to 24 months. Feedback is kept for up to 2 years, unless you delete your account first.
- Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription. Apple bills subscriptions, so cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Apple also keeps its own purchase records.
7. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- See and correct most of your information directly in the App.
- Disconnect any connected account in the App, or through my.plaid.com.
- Turn off usage analytics in Settings → Privacy & security.
- Turn notifications on or off in Settings → Notifications or in iPhone Settings.
- Delete your financial data or your entire account in Settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct or delete it, or anything else about your privacy, by emailing support@tryvisor.app.
Depending on your state (for example, California, Connecticut, Virginia, Colorado, Texas, Oregon and others), you may also have rights to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, and to access, correct, delete, or get a portable copy of it. You may also have the right to opt out of its sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling, and to appeal our decision on your request. We honor these requests for all US users, whether or not your state's law technically applies to us, and we respond within 45 days. We'll verify your request by confirming it comes from the email on your account, or by asking you to confirm it while signed in to the App. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask them for your signed permission and ask you to confirm your identity with us. Where the law allows, we may extend our response time once by up to 45 more days, and we'll tell you why. We won't treat you differently for using your rights. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. If you're still unhappy, you can contact your state attorney general.
We don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of, but you're welcome to ask. The providers named in this policy collect information through the App and Website only to provide their services to us. We don't allow other companies to collect information about your activity over time and across other apps or websites through Visor. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or "Do Not Track" signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale and targeted advertising, which we already don't do.
Profiling and sensitive information: we don't use your information for profiling or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for you. We use sensitive information, such as your sign-in details and connected-account information, only to provide the Service you asked for, not to infer things about you.
If you choose not to share something: you can use Visor without connecting accounts or turning on analytics. Some features, like automatic balance updates, won't work without the information they need.
California "Shine the Light": we don't share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing.
8. Children
Visor is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use the App, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email support@tryvisor.app and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top when this policy changes. For significant changes, we'll tell you in the App or by email before they take effect. If a change would let us use your information in a way you haven't agreed to, we'll ask first.
10. The Website and waitlist
On tryvisor.app we collect your email address if you join the waitlist. We also record how you found us (the referring site's name and any campaign tags in the link) and basic, privacy-focused analytics about how the site is used (pages viewed, whether the form was used, device type). Some visits may be recorded as session replays by PostHog to help us fix layout problems; text you type into forms is masked. To stop spam, the form may use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser for signs of automation.
We use this to manage the waitlist, send a confirmation and launch updates, understand which channels bring people to Visor, and keep the site secure. We rely on Supabase (waitlist storage), Resend (email), PostHog (analytics), Cloudflare (bot protection), and our hosting provider. We don't use advertising cookies. The site stores a small anonymous analytics identifier in your browser, which you can clear any time. We keep waitlist signups until we've told you Visor has launched or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. You can leave the waitlist any time by emailing support@tryvisor.app.
